Cork and Cleaver

Saturday January 16, 2010 Melisa and I along with some friends of ours from LaFontaine enjoyed a pleasant dinner at "The Cork".  This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Wayne.

They are well known for a tremendous salad bar, where the plates are ICE cold.  I always forget to take my napkin with me!  They have all the traditional items you would expect, along with Caviar, Jelly Belly's and even Artichokes.   Many people will visit this place just for the Salad Bar.

My friends had never been there, so I recommended the SAFE feature "Hawaiian Chicken" along with a twice baked potato and of course the Salad Bar.  Ric was well pleased!  His wife enjoyed a Steak, ordered it Medium to well done.  It came out closer to medium rare!  Melisa would have sent it back.

I tried the Crusted Talapia and Twice baked potato and Salad Bar.

I would rate this place on a scale of 1 to 5 --  A BIG 5!

We won't talk about the price much.  Lets just say the minimum entree starts at 15.95.  But well worth it.

This is one of the places that the average man visits on Special occasions.

Qui's Vietnamese & Chinese Restaurant

Com Diat Dac Biet

Special Rice Dish - Steamed rice dish with grilled pork chop, shredded pork, egg yolk toping.  Served with their house soup and spicy sweet & sour cabbage.

I wanted to try something different.  Boy was I surprised,  this dish was the best food I have had out in some time.  I would highly recommend this dish to anybody.   They have a very wide variety of both Chinese and Vietnamese.

This place was previously known as the Mandarin.  Current owners purchased the place a good number of years ago.  After selling more and more Vietnamese, they decided to change the name.

Cost of my meal $ 8.50 + tax and tip!

Ozzy's House of Pancakes

Melisa and I visited Ozzy's on Saturday January 2, 2010. She had never been there before. We were greeted by a friendly staff, they allowed us to seat ourselves. Melisa ordered the Strawberry pancakes and asked to have the Strawberrys on the side. She received 3 Big Fluffy Pancakes.

I ordered the Country Benedict which is 1 biscuit split in half with sausage and poached egg and gravy. I requested my egg be over easy instead of poached. It was a great breakfast.

Total cost
3 pancakes / Strawberries
Country Benedict
2 cups Coffee

$13.25 + Tax and Tip

Caliente

Many people have asked me if I have a vested interest in this place.

NO I don't!

I just love the Cuban Coffee and they have Great Food at very affordable prices. You can get a good Breakfast Sandwich and Cuban Coffee for under $4.00.

There have been days when I have stopped in at least twice.

I'm not real fond of the the Tamales, the the Sandwiches are the Best.
